Default Nurburgring rent a car

anyone any recommendations or know what is the cheapest rent a race/track car at the ring?
Thinking of trying to hire a car with a cage for a couple of the DN trackdays.
Havnt got CSL anymor, as I sold it
Blew engine up on r8...twice
Got CS but it isn't caged
Not got quotes yet, but on past experience rent4ring ect have been rather pricey for a susuki swift etc. You could buy a caged 320 or similar for the same money as 3 trackdays hire!

Why do you feel you need a cage?

Don't need one...done many laps without, but would definately feel better with cage and straps.
Especially on the ring.
Especially with passengers.

coz when you crash into a tree, there is less chance of it killing you and leaving wife and kids as one parent family and skint as life insurance wont pay out

Fair enough, I was going to say we only really run them in the SUVs now but in fairness we fit bucket seats and harnesses to everything and that's what I find more important nowadays and it's hard to get one without the other.

Edit: "when" Shimmy :O

Yeah, thanks for this, Shimmy. I had planned to tow the (caged and harnessed) E36 to the first DN day, but for various logistical reasons I now have to take the (significantly faster, wilder and non-caged) GTR instead. I had been trying to persuade myself that this was an ok idea..

Just got me thinking csl was fast at the ring GTR is going to be mental on the straights. GTR on stage 2 is 30mph faster on the short straight at Knockhill than the CSL.

Derek

had a couple of gtr's following me round the ring at the Gathering weekend in 2013. I've never had the pleasure of a pax or drive but they deliver huge linear speed judging by the way they came by.
