Default Porsche Cayman

S, GTS and GT4.

What do we think about these?

The forthcoming GT4 looks mega, and with c£55-60k price tag(?) will be a good seller?

Cayman = fantastic car. GTS is the current best model in range - still relatively new and sought after so approx £60k+.

Not much genuine news on GT4 yet, only speculation and rumours. Hopefully Porsche will give it the 'GT' treatment rather than just make it a parts bin special GTS+. Likely to be only 150-200 cars for UK over 2 years. Hoping for a 3.6 or 3.8 engine. Close as possible to 300hp/tonne power-to-weight. More Aerodynamics in way of spoilers like on GT3. ClubSport package with roll-cage and fixed buckets. Plenty of noise and drama from the engine/zorst. Doubt it will see rear-wheel-steer but a wider track would be nice. Larger discs and bespoke suspension would also be welcomed. Possibly option of PDK. Porsche have a real chance of making this car a proper weapon - lets just hope they don't dial it back in for fear of upsetting the 911 boys

eta - i think pricing will be closer to £75k with options. £80k with PCCB's

Driven a S on the road and track. Nice but did not excite me. No sence of occasion

Similar to the 991. Very refined, quick, solid, smooth etc. I know what you mean - make a great daily, but not quite special enough for a weekend 'toy'. What else is nowadays?? Hopefully the GT4 will be! Lets hope it sounds like a bag of spanners on tickover, smokes like a chav, crunches through gears (when cold), rattles, put's yer back out getting in and out of the bloody thing, knocks your fillings out on anything but less than perfect road surfaces... THEN, it will be a 'sense of occasion'

I've had a good drive of the GTS a and it didn't excite me. The noise from the exhaust with sport button pressed was just ridiculous- too many pops and bangs - that should be left for lesser cars than Porsches, I like to hear the flat 6 scream - ala GT3 - but nothing like it at all. I don't like the PDK box either - it's not as good as the DCT in an M3. The electric steering is pants too.

I'd go for a 997 C2S or even GTS over a new Cayman, personally.

i have a deposit in a new GT4.

think it'll base at 65k. add in club sport pack and PCCBs to come out at 75k.
I don't need anymore than that. If they charge for AC, I'll opt out of that as well.

It'll be a throwback to the manual more interactive era than the current PDK equipped rws Gt3. It may not be the fastest but i rather have fun.

Oooo tell me more. When are you expecting the car? I've heard end of 2015?

Its a toss up between this and the M2 GTS at the moment.
