Default DAB radio problem, can anyone help?

Guys, I know this is not a CSL but woundered if someone with experience can help seeing as I can't ask on Mtorque at the moment.

My dad has a new 535d, 09 spec and the DAB radio has failed for the second time. First time it took an effort to get our local dealer to sort it by replacing the radio unit but it's happened again and I think they are fobbing him off. They say as the car passes through different DAB radio pick up signals and that some DAB signals are being updated causing the issue, there is nothing they can do other than send the unit for re-programing with BMW Munich! My dad, getting really pissed off now, mentioned I have a 335i, bought new at the same time and that I don't have any such problems. They advised him that my DAB radio would pack up as well at some point!

WTF is that all about? Anyone hear of similar issues with DAB radio? Any help much appreciated.
