Alloy refurbishment
Hi guys
The paint on my wheels is starting to wear off (common problem I understand on the CSL alloys!) in certain places and so I thinking about the possibility of having the wheels refurbished. I would be looking to get these done in the standard colour, but am slightly concerned that the finish and/or colour will not be the same as the original. Has anyone had any experience of having there alloys refurbed/powdercoated? Your help would be appreciated.... |

Cheers for that Mark, I'm in Glasgow so Edinburgh is not an issue, would rather travel a bit to get the job done properly. I will give Robert a buzz and see what says.
Out of interest have you had some of your wheels refurbed by him? |

He is having the car Saturday and I'll get it back Sunday...I'll let you know what I think and post some pics, but he has a good reputation. fergusgo,
I had mine done by a boy in Stirling. Initially I thought it was sh1t hot but the 1st time I took the wheels off to clean them, I could not remove the dirt from the inside on the rim. I could also see the guys finger prints where he'd been lifting them etc. Turned out, he'd baked the wheel after painting but never bothered to clean the inside before baking And then, after a trackday last year, the wheels became so hot that the paint started blistering from the only wheel that I know has been refurbed and has now flaked off a wee bit. I think I might be looking for someone decent too soon. Just a few things to be wary off, Baz |
