My car is around the 65k mark and would probably benefit from the original shocks being replaced, especially as I found the chrome stanchions on the rear shocks really rusty at the top. Would these shocks be the right ones for a csl??? Obviously sachs is the OE manufacturer but I'm unsure as the whether the csl shares the same shocks as the standard m3.

csl has uprated shocks and springs over the normal m3. Hence why ride feels fair bit stiffer.
