Default Hellllllllpppppppp....!!!!

After driving 400 miles today to the Ring my engine management light (the light that looks like an engine sort off lol) came on, car drives as if its not on so I'm hoping it was a glitch...

My question is can you reset it without "plugging in"...???

Others will know better, but the same happened mine a couple of years ago and it was just an oxygen sensor. Car drove perfectly all the time regardless

Mine comes on every now and again when I do a lot of miles at a steady low speed (due to the sports cats). As soon as I drive it hard, it goes off again.

Mine also came on on the long journey (400 miles to the 'ring). It soon went off .

Or it is on all the time but you've got a dodgy connection

Actually, that reminds me, mine did turn off again for a few weeks, but then came back on permanently until I got the sensors replaced. Am I right in think if it doesn't still find a fault after the third start-up it clears if from the error log?

I don't think so, I had it checked by the guy that had to reset my steering angle sensor (tripped by me causing a low battery voltage through running a compressor off the lighter supply without the engine running ) .

It's been reset twice and gone off of its own accord twice. I will get your guy to lower the sensitivity and get the limiter removed when I get round to it .

My O2 sensors failed and caused that light to come on. I continued to drive it like it for a bit after getting it diagnosed and I couldn't really tell anything was wrong apart from a slightly lumpy idle and sooty tailpipes. It doesn't have to serious or terminal for that light to come on.

I would however be getting it checked out. There is a garage in Adenau that has a computer, they were very helpful when I dropped a valve at Ring let me borrow their compression tester etc. Or try Rent 4 Ring or RSR.

Disconnect negative and positive terminals of battery for over 30 mins....should clear all faults...

Needless to say it may come back again...
