Default CSL concept engine bay pictures

Has anyone got any better images than the usual one floating around on the net?

The reason being, I think the CSL inlay into the cover looks like it is just a cut down version of the one that is in the door kick panels (the flag seems to go right to the edge).

A better picture might be able to confirm this....?

Nordschleife, there's only two barriers to worry about - the ones on the left and the ones on the right .

Yep, the carbon fibre rocker cover with the CSL inlay only appeared on the initial concept model and was subsequently dropped, didn't appear on any Launch models.

The photograph of the engine bay is from the press pack, probably the only one you'll find that shows that somewhat naff, cut-down kick plate inlay. (shades of the plaque)

What would it have cost them to produce a bespoke one, probably pence in the scheme of things. Just a pity the dropped the CF cover as well.

I want to make one for my car, but wanted to see how long to cut the inlay down to.

Someone (Roland or Levente?) might have some other pictures....

From -> http://www.cslregister.com/forum/sho...t=engine+cover

I asked BMW a few years back if they would be willing to create some engine covers for us, the answer was no.

From the photo you can see it's half of the diameter of the oil filling cap.
I would put the door sill next to the oil filling cap and see if it looks the same size; as in the CSL concept car.

Its the length I am interested in - you can't see where it stops in this photo...

The quality of the BMW CSL production carbon is not very good anyway (although the airbox is better having been done in 2 x 2 twill rather than plain weave).

The above prototype appears to be far nicer 4x4 twill, along with far better quality than what ended up on the production cars.

Check where the chequered flag is ending on the right side and make the left side equal in length.
I believe it is symetrical.
