Default 18 x 9.5 ET 35 on the front?

I'm looking at a set of wheels to run 265/35 R18 Cups on this year. At the moment the Apex EC-7 is the favourite:

I was set on the 18 x 9 ET 31 all around, but Apex customer support has suggested that I go for the 9.5.

Thoughts?

Car would be running standard shocks and springs, so I don't have the need to accommodte a coilover adjustment collar.

I know a few run a 9J but the tyre will be better on a 9.5J.

The 9J is the minimum rim width for this tyre, as you make the rim wider it will get a bit stiffer and produce more grip.

Have these running on a 18x9.5J ET 30 (with 3,5 degs camber and no arch mods) and also on a 18x10J ET20 (which need arch mods and so on to get to work).

I run 9.5J x 18 all round on track with 265/35x18 Cups

Fronts are et37 but I run a 3mm spacer to avoid the Intrax collar so ER 34 effectively.

I can run all cambers ith out issue.

In the past I have run OEM 18 x 9 ET 26 rears all around, with 255 section R888s - absolutely no issues at all.

By my calculations, on the 9.5 EC-7, the outside will be 2.65mm further in (great) and the inside will be 15.35mm further in (not so sure about).

Gut feeling is that I will be OK, since I have factory suspension and the main issue that I have seen with others is clearance between wheel and coilover locking collar.

Shimmy - am I right in thinking you run the spacer for clearance between the collar and the wheel?

yes, it was not touching but bloody close!

Interestingly with the Nitron I tried I had to use a bigger spacer

If you run an 18x9.5J ET35 with a coilover it will lightly touch on the inside. With standard suspension it will be absolutely fine.
