Sorry - I didn't explain the suspension bit enough. The only standard part is the top mounts and the wishbones. You can replace any bush with a nylon one anywhere on the car (except for the top mount), but no solid mounts. The idea of this is to make the generic £2000 suspension system as effective as a £5000 system - since there is a certain amount of "movement" in all these parts - if everything was solid mounted then a £5000 system would out perform the £2000 system and hence the guy who spends most money wins - not the ethos of this idea, and Thorney has already proved that this does not work. Dampers and springs are free and will probably be 2 or 3 way adjustable, so there is loads of scope for getting the set-up tuned. Definately be a control tyre, a treaded one which would hopefully be road legal for those who wish to keep their cars road legal and even possibly drive to the races (just depends on if it is in a fit state to drive home!!) Maybe the chance of doing some 2, 4 and 6 hour races? Just depends on costs and demand. The main aim for this - and it was only a chat over a beer at a race meeting recently, was to give a platform for the E46 to race at sensible money. Just take a look at all the E46's out there with trick gearboxes costing thousands, massive engine upgrades, diffs, slicks, wets, aero, mega expensive suspension, pedal boxes, plastic windows, carbon fibre parts, stand alone ecu ignition systems which need a lot of dyno time to get them right etc etc etc......and in the end, people have run out of money and then can't afford to race the damn thing - so whats the point? The chap who is considering starting this series has no interest in trying to make money from this, people can buy their parts from where ever they want, so long as they are to the regulations. I'm already trawling ebay for an early M3, £5000 will definately buy a complete working car in the near future. Cage, seat, suspension, bushes, harness, wheels and tryes and away you go! This would be a fair level playing field where the driver with the best skill and set-up knowledge will succeed. I hope this happens.

Shimmy i reckon you've got enough spare parts stashed away ready for this, all you need is the car.

I like the sound of this! Keep the rules simple so no scope for 'biggest wallet wins' run road tyres to keep the cost down. Would like to think cica 10k would give you a good car ready to race!
