Default More insurance robbery

Insured the CSL in April there for around £500 for me and my Wife with AXA over here in NI. Sensible enough money, this wasn't a problem.

Thinking of buying a Impreza Turbo Estate to hoon about in over the Winter, always loved the beat off these and looking at them you can pick up something shady for around £2K, even less if not choosy. Just bored offshore here really but thought I would share this.

Looked at insurance quickly there and Elephant are coming out with a quote of over £800 for a £1500 car for me and the Wife with 3K a year mileage!!!

So in short... we can insure a:
£25K BMW for £500 but a
£1K Subaru for £800.... am I missing something here?

Mark, who do you insure the Evo with?

Hi,

In truth, you do not see many CSL's
parked backwards in shop fronts.

But Scooby Estate seems to be the weapon
of choice.

May explain it some ?

Regards,

The Gorilla.

I'm sure for a while that the Impreza was Britains most nicked car, that probably doesn't help matters!

Plus because they are cheap as chips and fairly quick I bet a fair few are being stacked.

What about a (B5) Audi S4 Avant Baz? They might be cheaper to insure?

Cheers Leins,

Just done a quick quote on a '99 S4 Avant, £400 FC so yeah, much cheaper and a much much better car obviously.
