Question Anyone know what this key is for?

These two keys were attached to my key ring and spare key for my CSL. I know that the plastic one is for emergencies to enable it to be posted to you if you lose your main key or lock yourself out of the car. I assume that you can drive using it - anyone confirm this?

Does anyone know if the metal one serves any purpose or did the seller just attach it in error ie it belongs to another BMW car completely.

I only query it now as I have mislaid my original key and am using the spare

Bottom plastic key is the Wallet key - opens driver door and turns on ignition only, does not open boot or glove box.

Top key looks like an old version Valet key - same function I think as the Wallet key

Cheers for that. The only problem is is the metal one shown in my extremely poor picture has metal work that it proud rather than recessed like the plastic and programmable keys. I did try and poke it in the door keyhole but it would not go in.

Quite possibly as there is no way the mileage can be genuine with only 31,000 on the clock and seven years old . HPI check as we speak.

The metal one is an exact likeness for one of my E36 keys. Maybe you 'own' another BMW but just don't know about it!
