Pretty sure id manage to fabricate something for that derek. My Road Angel works fine and it's GPS so guessing the screen doesnt block the signal

The only good place to put it is outside in clear sight of the sky 360 degrees. Anything else is a compromise and may give you false or inaccurate readings. The antenna needs to see a certain amount of satellites consistently to work properly and if it doesn't it will drop.

At tracks like Spa and the Ring bridges and elevations and trees make it worse whereas at flat tracks in the open it's not so bad.

Not sure about Knockhill.....

There is no metal in the windscreen use as large as possible diameter piece of metal (I just taped all the edges) to avoid ground reflections. No problems with drop out at knockhill. BMW fit trackers in this position as reception is good due to carbon roof and non metallic dash

Your choice, you obviously like fast Lap times

But I can show you the drop out files if you like.

No drop out at knockhill with antenna in dash, the track is on the side off a hill with no obstructions vbox works well. I also can provide files,
