Default Change up lights not working

Hi all
Was driving quit enthusiastically today, had the sports mode on, took the revs quite high in 2nd 3rd, but the change up lights didint light up
Just wondering if there might be a reason for this, or when they normally come in.

Cheers

James.

They should be on by the time you hit the rev limiter if that helps.

Shift lights light up for merely milliseconds off hitting the revlimiter.
In 2nd and 3rd they flash up quickly, 4th (and presumably 5th/6th) light up with more time to see them properly

Was the car warm?? Because as far as I am aware the shift lights don't work until the car's properly warmed up? Or am I talking bollocks??
