I cant imagine any insurance company saying 'we will insure you for TF at the Ring' but there are still some insurance companies that dont specifically exclude the Ring, which probably gives you a fighting chance if you do have a mishap.

CCI don't cover the Ring - as per most other insurers. The ones who may not yet exclude the Ring are probably the type of insurer who wont insure a CSL anyway

To get Ring specific insurance you need to go with MORIS (Everitt Boles) or similar. It's not cheap though...

Out of interest, do all on here who are insured with CCI know this?

So hypothetically, if I were to have a crash at the ring (assuming it was the other persons fault) with someone on here who is insured with CCI and knowingly drives on the ring without *any* insurance, I'd be screwed and would have to sue them to reclaim any damage to my car (or worse, myself or a passenger).

Is this fair? Worthy of discussion.

Not really true steve, The other person is technically insured 3rd party through the legal obligation of the insurance company even though it says they are not insured so to speak. You would be paid out by their insurance but they would have to repair their own car, then their insurance company "could" try to reclaim cost of payout from their customer.

Thats a scary thought.

I could tell the wife
'i caused a big crash, the car is written-off and we are not insured so we have lost £25k . . . . . '
but it would be difficult to add
. . . . . . . 'and when our insurance company has paid-out the personal injury claims and repairs to the other cars they will be coming to take everything else that we own'

That's what will have happened to a British M5 driver recently after he caused a 6 car crash - the bill was probably circa €400,000...

I think probably the vast majority of non-German insured drivers at the Ring drive the TF uninsured.

On UK track days of course, someone can crash into you and write off your car but is still not liable to pay you a single penny towards repair. That's why i have track insurance...

Just renewed ins with CCI £455 AP's, KW suspension and 5 track days. Novell and Richards were £564 with 5 track days but dont do modified suspension.

Just had a thought if someone writes off there car on the site we can all put our cars up for sale at inflated prices so they can quote all the adverts so they get a fair price if the insurance company is quoting silly prices

Is that still true if the insurance company specifically excludes the ring in writing (their small print) though? My understanding was if they exclude in writing (as CCI do) then this didn't apply. I could be wrong though (and hope I am!)
