I now run standard system (and standard cats) with SS Race Lightweight backbox - it amplifies the CSL 'rasp' nicely and is rather less droney than my old Miltek. Also looks better too imho, and passes noise testing with 97db at most places i have been - except Oulton where it was 101db?!

Hmmmm... pleasant, but a little too muffled for my liking

Actually, under hard acceleration, it's slightly louder than the Miltek i had - but in a 'more pant straining' way - to my ears anyway!

Exhaust noise is always very subjective and everyone has a preference of course. I simply tired of the Miltek as it droned too much for my liking and sounded more like a Porsche C2S from behind than a CSL! I have track side footage of my car (with Miltek) following another CSL (with standard exhaust) round Castle Combe and my car sounded dull and boring in comparison to the other

Only one (reasonably priced) option and that's SS lightweight backbox. It sounds great, looks great and weight is only 10kg's not 20. Standard back boxes are 25kg's+.

I have std cats, SS silenced centre section with SS lightweight BB. Very pleased. Rob swopped to his current SS backbox after a Miltek and after listening to mine at CC. Robs flyby is a reasonable representation of the sound but still doesn't sound like it does in the flesh. His car sounds lush and so does mine.

Only exhaust i would have considered over the stock setup is a Kreis-Sieg. Just a shame its about £6k!

A full Supersprint (incl. mani and race cats) is close, but doesn't have the advantage of having a quiet mode like the Kreis-Sieg.

That's all as may be but 99.99% of the time you are sat inside your car listening to it... what's the best sounding exhaust from inside?

I have a Miltek on from buying the car a few weeks ago and when you are on one it sounds great but at low revs sounds awful...
