Slow Steve - far too slow. very low 2:56 with traffic and carrying 115kg of ballast (passenger, seat, mounts and harnesses) on utterly knackered second hand slicks. Wrong front bumper and so splitter too if that makes a difference. Theoretical best using 5 sectors was 2:50.5 which shows that
a) there was too much traffic on the timed runs b) I need to learn to not make mistakes every 3rd corner Massive learning curve for us now, only got the car back a week ago so we have to get as much seat time as possible. Think the chav wing is costing speed on Kemel too i think, car was brilliantly planted at Blancimont though, in fact all the longer faster corners the car was feeling awesome, I struggled in the slower bits to be honest, need to have a think about setup. Gears are confusing too with the different final drive, few places are a bit more awkward now like running out of 4th having to pull 5th before Eau Rouge and Phouon - end up with not only an extra upshift but also a downshift. Need to get to a proper test day rather than track days and need to get brand new slicks on 10" wide wheels to get a setup sorted. Shimmy was on the case for sure, good driving from him :D |

![]() What weight do you reckon the car is now Nathan? I ask because my car stripped out was 1374kg without about 1/2 tank of fuel, but in the video it was just below full, so allowing about an extra 0.76k x 30 litres = 22kg, plus driver & pax = 145kg, so total weight of the car in the vid I estimate to be about 1541kg. |
