My csl is currently at a local specialist to get the boot floor reinforced.
While its off, its getting new delrin subframe aswell as new oem differential bushings installed. I think it will run me about 1,000£.

Is there anything else i should have done to it, while its off?

I believe brake lines run underneath subframe so get your engineer to check/replace as it will be removed from the car.

yes. i had mine replaced at the same time boot floor was done at simpsons

Bartletts changed my brake lines at the same time.

change all subframe bushes, diff and rtab all at the same time.
Then that will last another 10 years.

Redish will do whatever you want and tailor things to your budget.

I had an extended rear end refresh. So all the usual plating and foam injection stuff done but in addition I had all corrosion on the rear half of the car treated and then the whole rear of the underside painted and undersealed right out to the wheel arches. I had the subframe powder coated and new subframe and diff carrier bushes and fitted. I also had new rear brake lines fitted.

It does look like a new car underneath but it hasn’t stopped me using it. If anything it’s given me the confidence to use it more as I know the car isn’t pulling itself apart.

I did’t have the front half of the car restored because to be honest, it was’t that bad. There’s a lot more shielding up front and the heat from the engine / gearbox means things don’t sit damp for long.

The work you had done is what I intend having done and you're right I guess knowing your car is sound underneath would give you plenty of confidence to drive your car more. Do you mind me asking how much it cost to have all of that work done ? You can pm me if you prepare .

I can't remember the exact breakdown but I could fish out the invoice. It was a little over £4k. But that included a compression test, which in turn requires a valve adjustment beforehand to make sure everything is sealing properly before running the test. I guess you could knock ~£600 off the price if you omitted that. I can PM you the full details later tonight.

Thanks Ben, had them checked and apparently they are in good condition.

Had them do that, subframe bushings are replaced with poly ones. Diff are still as good as new (got a new diff 2 years ago). Thanks

I've thought about getting the rear axle powder coated too, but since she has spent all its life on the gran canarian roads it would be a bit overkill. imho.
