I don't know whether that's good news, or very good news? I'm thinking along the lines of, if I decide to sell in a few years, they'll probably be less buyers out there due to the prices increases. But I suppose on the flip side, you'll have plenty rich investors that won't be worried about spending 80k on a CSL with 70k miles.

Interesting, but think £60/70k average is a little way off, no?

Was wondering where people see the ceiling (and I mean for a well looked after, used car not a zero miles museum piece). I don't follow classic car prices so don't know what the appreciation curve typically looks like...

... it's just a shame TG can't get their facts right as apparently the M3 CSL appeared in 2004 making all of our UK 2003 CSLs pre production mules I suppose
Oh, and apparently you can tell them apart from the regular M3s by the duck tail and the different front bumper but no mention of the CSL only CF roof
Typical journos not letting the facts getting in the way of a good story.

If you look at those on sale then that is not a bad average.

Hi, think they do mention the CF roof tbf. I'll let you double check cause I've had a few glasses of vino so can't be trusted/less well behaved than normal

NJ has just sold (this weekend) "CSL780" for circa £56K

40,000 miles with the usual full BMWSH etc

Surely that would have been a £52-£53K private sale.

I'm not sure that NJ will be able to apply much of a price premium to the cars he sells, if any, due to his modest reputation on forums such as this. Add in the fact that sellers can very easily sell themselves, due to the high demand, or go to a prestigious garage such as Munich Legends which is more in tune with the type of seller who can afford CSL's now as opposed to 5/6 years ago.

So as for CSL780, I reckon that would sell on this forum for the same price as NJ can get for it.

TBH, I regard myself as fairly lucky that mine came up for sale at the same time Aviva laid its golden egg.

Don't keep a dead eye on prices but, from what I have seen, there hasn't been another up for sale that would've been in my price range.
