Just got me thinking csl was fast at the ring GTR is going to be mental on the straights. GTR on stage 2 is 30mph faster on the short straight at Knockhill than the CSL.

Derek

had a couple of gtr's following me round the ring at the Gathering weekend in 2013. I've never had the pleasure of a pax or drive but they deliver huge linear speed judging by the way they came by.

Here's me in my old stage 2 at DN9. A couple of notes: (i) I had only had the car 2 weeks and was taking it easy; (ii) my mate in front is in a stage 1 and described his lap as "steady"; (iii) the beeping noise is my speed detector telling me if I go over 85. I call out the speed on the straight and ultimate hit an indicated 179 (the speedo said 186 but I trust the speed detector). I didn't even get a good run at it and I backed off.

I suspect the new car will be a fair bit quicker still.

Definitely could do with a cage.

Think he was on his way home before you finished lap and you didn't look slow. Need to get transmission cooler and get to ring

So...where can I rent a GTR then? Or anything better than susuki swift, for less than a grand?
Or am I going to have to bring the f10 m5 and give the gtr boys a run for their money down the straights?

If you are hellbent on renting a car, I suggest you give Jaco at Jaco's Paddock a call. He is a good guy and fixed our previous E36 M3 race car when we broke the gearbox at the Ring. See http://www.jacos-paddock.co.uk/race-...gring-faq.html. I am not sure what he will charge for a day, but I reckon he'll give you a good E36 at a reasonable price and it will be a lot more fun than a Suzuki Swift. Tell him Gregor sent you.
