Without doubt temporary yes, the whole car market for "classics" and "limited editions" is inflated currently for sure. A correction is due I feel.

Porsche should make just a few cars, and sell the certificate of entitlement to 100 times as many people.

So people just trade the certificate, and if anyone wants physical delivery (for few drive them nowadays), they have a few available - like a bank with your money/investments.

& if there is a run, they get given Passats or something

Prices for certain Porsche's have just gone daft now - almost laughable. The CSL if you look at it has had a more mature, steady and justified price rise. Look at 1M's - some are still at list price at 3+ yrs old! E46 M3 CS's - some are advertised at nearly CSL prices! The CSL looks very cheap next to some cars. Maybe fingers will get burnt? But i know the CSL will be safe.

Agreed it seems this most recent "Modern Classic Car/Pork bubble" is just about ripe enough to burst just like the last one did when overnight prices of 'E' Type Jags (and lots of other 60's British classics ) went through the roof to the point where some people where shipping in US speck LHD 1960's British wrecks back to Blighty to restore and convert to RHD, quickly and sometimes quite badly

I hope the Porsche bubble does burst because I'd really like to own a 997 GT3 one day.

I sincerely hope so. GT3RS prices are getting a tad ridiculous.

That said JZM prices have eased recently.

GT3 RS 4.0 prices are crazy. Surely for car bubble to burst people need an alternative investment to be more appealing and the property market is still a bit fecked.
