I wouldn't be paying that for a Cat registered car.

Just a thought. Any Csl is worth a punt. Price and condition always come first. But if you do get in a pickle the sum of the parts would refund your investment. Not that I condone braking good cars.
I broke my last car and doubled the as a whole value.

apologies my earlier post wasn't clear. I was referring to the 2,600 mile car being sold. Whilst ebay and PH continue to advertise the car, the dealer website says 'deposit taken' http://www.thesupercarrooms.co.uk/showroom |

you can get CAT D cars properly inspected by a rep of the motor insurance association. as long as its all repaired and correctly according to their very STRINGENT inspections then it will come off CAT D.
its normally a 3-4 hour full inspection with the car pulled apart. moves from CAT D to inspected so it comes off the HPI register for cars under that classification. if anything its piece of mind that its been repaired properly and will retain a value albeit lower. if its been stolen it might not even need that. a CAT D car would not put me off if it looks right, drives right and inspects ok. put in a cheeky bid and you could have a belter. am sure NJ totally stole it $$ wise so has bags of margin in it.
