Sure it does, but that is over years and years, plus you aren't circulating it or getting it hot. So it will come out as clean as it went in.

If you are going to drive it then change the oil etc, but servicing a car in storage is a waste of consumables.

It is easier to change oil seals, than try to recoup bore and metal wear from frequent cold starts.

From the ebay listing I wasn't far wrong with the servicing, don't use it = don't service it!

BMW's service requirements are quite specific irrespective of mileage, most low mileage example fall foul of the bi-annual requirement; every two years the requirement moves on to the next level, eg. Oil service, Inspection 1 or Inspection 2 irrespective of the mileage done.

If you have an BMW (Mondial) extended warranty you either comply or run the risk of having any claim refused.

Having only done 3K since having an oil service, two years ago, I recently checked with both BMW and Mondial to be informed that the next service due would be an Inspection 1, so parking it up does you no favours.

Use it and enjoy it but more importantly service it!

There is no problem not servicing it for an extended period. BMWs concern is if somebody just gets in and drives it straight out of storage, plus they have a vested interest in getting people in for servicing. For example do you see the point in changing a virtually unused air filter for a new one based on age?

The car will need servicing in depth before using, but sitting a car in long term storage and servicing without use is a waste of money and consumables.

If the car was impacted by this, so you think it would command the price it is?
