Question Nurburgring bought by Russian oligarch

Nurburgring bought by Russian oligarch, does this mean the end of the venue as we know it?

Doubt it, the amount of money they make from just the TF alone, wasted laps that don't get used, hardly any investment of the old circuit by way of infrastructure etc.

If true I would of thought it can only be a good thing ... 1. Someone has actually come through with funds & 2. Not short of a few bob to possibly enhance what already exists.

I never understood why none of the major car manufacturers bought it ? It is small change for them and totally taxable If I am not wrong. Especially BMW with all of its facilities and investment already in the region.

Such an iconic race track and arguably the most famous one in the world with a price not more than a few Knightsbridge apartments... Go figure..

If they install SMIRNOFF fountains all over the place and it's on tap this could be the start of a new era
