What a day. At 5am we Geo'd the car and the alternator had packed up. Then went to fit the cups and the rear had a puncture. Plan B was to use my spare battery and 18 inch rims. Plan was to arrive and drive on cups Got to Bedford to do briefing etc, Adem got a shakedown session in, backing plate rubbing, came in, sorted tyres, my mate psi gauge was knackered so then done a lap and back in. Then I didnt tighten up the rear wheel bolts and only managed to the first corner. Adem got a session in before lunch, then it rained. Chris then broke down 2 miles from the track so we had to rescue him, I turned the car off it didnt start. So we bump started it down the hill. Had a cheeky curry for lunch. I went out on slicks in the damp as i wanted to see what the car could do, had a couple of moments but stayed on the black stuff The day dried up, Adem got another session in and got used to the car and track before hitting the back S bend section at 94mph, I literally shit myself.. I then went out and got black flagged after 5 laps in Apologies to anyone on here (Uncle Benz) if I cut you up or overtook aggressively, we were having a good blast with a well tuned Audi A3 and black e46 M3, all up each others arse which the other track day goers didnt appreciate. The A3 was lapping at 2.44 and wasnt quicker than me over the lap. The M3 felt great, but is no where near a csl on track. Next track day were get the car corner weighted by JP and run square set up. Then change all bushes. It still is a very good car to thrash about. A 2.42 is achievable but really need a Vbox now as that is a cracking lap, also on yours shimmy that clio or whatever it is holds you up. Doubt I have the skills to do that consistently but 2.44 is Just uploading pictures to photobuxket and Ill post some up. |
