Each to their own, what ever it is.

If it's an e46, after having owned one, I would go for a CSL every time, what ever the mileage.

I never looked back when I traded it in for the CSL. I'm not saying it will never go but I'm hanging on to it for at least this summer (6 years now).

I don't use it as a daily and that probably adds to the grin when I go and get it out of storage

Enjoy your car
Thanks, yes it's an e46 m3 and I was just stating that I personally would much rather have an 8000 mile mint and as new normal m3 than a high mileage tired csl especially as bits are so expensive if you do have to replace them. Ie interior bits etc. Everyone is different and maybe people's standards arnt as high as mine.

Well I looked at 3 cars for sale on here and there were all needing paintwork, worn seats, cracked/scratched carbon inside and just generally really looking tired

I think there are around 11/12,000 common or garden M3's left in RHD and only 285 CSL's. Nuff said!

I bought an M roadster 3 years ago instead of an E46 M3 because it was rarer and felt more special. To get a tidy normal M3 to the same standard aesthetically, aurally and in terms of handling as a CSL would cost thousands.

A ferrari 348 costs about 25-35k but the competizione is advertised for around 99k. I haven't seen people on ferrari forums justifying buying the girl's version!
