But it's not a csl. Still great car (M3) and a car id like to own. Sounds daft really but a Csl is that different.

No it's not but given the car has done over 100k miles and is worth 25k is crazy, if it was a normal m3 it would be a 5k car.

I looked at several csl before buying my m3 and just couldn't justify spending 30k on a car with stone chips and worn/scuffed interior parts etc. but that's just me and we all know they command these prices even in this state and they seem to sell.

Show me a link for an 8k mile M3 for less money. That's all.

Easy to make comment without evidence.

Then your point is valid.

Now I understand if you can't afford one, not sure I could if I had to buy one in 2014 instead of 2006, but how can you explain it as "justifying" a purchase when prices have gone up around 15-20% in one year whereas your M3 is gonna drop like a stone and keep falling.

My m135 is about £32k and my CSL somewhere between £20-23k with 100k more miles on the clock and if I had to buy one f them I know which it would be.

Who said anything about not being able to afford one though? And as for the value of mine dropping like a stone it obviously shows how much you know as it's not just low mile csls that command good money these days.

Are you talking E46 M3?

Each to their own, what ever it is.

If it's an e46, after having owned one, I would go for a CSL every time, what ever the mileage.

I never looked back when I traded it in for the CSL. I'm not saying it will never go but I'm hanging on to it for at least this summer (6 years now).

I don't use it as a daily and that probably adds to the grin when I go and get it out of storage

Enjoy your car
