Moral Dilemma

I put the CSL up for sale last month and got cold feet when the buyer offered a deposit.

It suddenly hit me just how much i love this car.

Im sure its a dilemma many of you have been in. I really cant part with it, but I have to buy a house sooner or later and now seems like a good time when mortgage rates are getting very competitive.

I know il never get the chance to own a CSL in this condition again because they will just get too expensive..

nothing else out there really appeals to me apart from maybe a 1M,

Man life sucks sometimes. considering robbing a bank to keep it... no no thats not a good idea.

how much did you regret selling it?

A Lot sold my fist csl and was gutted when it drove down the street still life goes on

2 weeks later bought another CSL had it 2 years sold that one and bought a standerd M3 big mistake still sold that after 5 days bought the csl i own now had it 2 years then needed to free some cash to buy another house sold it to my m8 2 1/2 years on i was looking for another so bought my old CSL back as he had only done 500miles in 2 1/2 years in it never sellnig again.

I feel your pain! I was very close, but in a state of depression and not ashamed to say I cried (more than once).

It was advertised with NJ and had buyers interested, but could not go through with it. These cars are so rare and you just can't buy one off the cuff with what you may want! i.e. low miles/low owners etc. the buyer has to wait around for one to come up for sale. If a buyer wanted a csl with 1 owner and low miles... he/she could be waiting around a while before one came up for sale but as the cars get older, the harder it is to find one to your spec.

Financially it has drained us - from paying for it, to now finding the money to service it (just been done woo hooo) and even put tyres on it but if in doubt, (and you can afford a bit of petrol) just go for a drive and all of a sudden nothing matters!!

If we sold, wow, I could decorate the house lovely, new kitchen, a holiday to the Maldives but we haven't had a holiday for years (1 holiday in 8 years), hardly any new clothes/shoes/handbags but hey, I have a CSL in the garage to drive whenever I want and that is much more than any holidays/clothes or nicely decorated house.

Hold on to it if you can is my advice

I'm in the same boat,I really need to sell to get some funds to help renovate our new house,but just cant bring myself to sell,some say it's just a piece of metal,but it's not,it's my CSL and I know if I do sell it I'll probably never afford another one.

I bought mine in the middle of an 18 month house renovation, now im thinking money is getting tighter than tight for the house but who gives a shit because ive still got the CSL !!

Everyone I know that has sold out has been overjoyed. Glad to have finally got out of the overpriced, overhyped M3 in drag.

Be sensible and get it into bricks and mortar as quickly as possible before the economy explodes.

I'll do you a favour and take it off you for £15k....am cutting my own throat guv. Be quick though, won't stand the offer for long

Had mine for 7 years and with the exception of a massive dealer and warranty f**k up at the end ( I'll get round to writing it all up one day) they are great cars and very reliable, but there are alternatives out there - I went down the Ferrari CS route. Ok more money but fantastic experience and ownership.

Any concerns, reliability wise, around driving a 9 yr car like they should be driven ?
