Sub 50k SG wanted
Hi Ladies & Gents,
Thought I would join your fine forum, since I'm going to (finally) get a CSL. Ideally i'm looking for a well looked after SG in the following cond:- - under 50,000 miles - Xenons - Full service history - BMW Warranty, or atleast a complete enough service history than I can put on a BMW AUC warranty on the car (so running in service completed, all scheduled services, not more than 2 years between services, no heavy mods). - Good interior cond (seats, carbon). - Decent brakes would be a plus but not essential. Have test driven a few cars already, so am pretty certain of what I want, and will pay a fair price for the right car. If you are thinking of selling please contact me before advertising on PH / autotrader. Thanks J |

Curious what people think would be a fair price for this 60,000 mile car from a dealer?
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3713744.htm ...I'm sure you all agree thar the rims must be changed, so have to factor in 2,5k for a set of new rims and tyres. So 28,5 for a 60,000 mile car seems a tad on the high side. Are there any other advantaged of buying from a dealer? |

Second hand CSl rims returned are £1200 and sell old ones £200, no reason to replace tyres. So add £1000 for rims.
What will cost you more is the fact it is 60k miles so any warranty will cost you double than if it was 59k miles. Could cost you £700-1000 a year extra.

The dealer should pay the first year of extended Warranty as part of the AUC deal. After this expires, move it onto monthly payments to freeze any future Warranty price increases. Most owners with 60K + miles CSLs do

225/255 were standard Pilot Sport sizes on CSL and M3 so will be fine on the CSL rims as well, even though fronts 10mm wider.

When you switch to monthly it is a different policy and the car will already be over 60k so will attract the higher price.

I'm not disputing Warranty costs going up @ 60K miles +, unfortunately they do yet you get less for it At the end of 12 months Warranty one is given a choice of payment. Either a one off payment or monthly instalments which do not increase after a further 12 months and remain the same amount so long as they are paid each months, indefinitely The Warranty policy remains the same.

Cheers guys,
According to dealer it's not possible to switch the tyres. I'm sure I could flog them off on the bay and use the cash towards a set of "proper" CSL rims & tyres. Cheers for the info RE the warranty, will be sure to check this in detail. Surprisingy the dealer couldn't tell me the on going costs of the warranty (I asked as I was also concerned about the 60k step) BMW don't want to comment themselves - seems the AUC warranty is an outsourced product. Anyway..... a 40-50k car with the right rims on it in the first place is likley to be cheaper! I'll just be patient and wait for the right one to come along. J |
