Nearly bought a set of 18" through Shimmy's contact (money in hand ready to be spent) but they were completely out of stock
Something to do with a certain CSL owner buying one too many sets

Ding Ding, times two please :-)
Can't remember if I mentioned but I have Pro2000 in the evo and was going to do the same again. Harnesses - I have Scroth Enduro harness in the evo which are fantastic. Just shot up in price, shame cos they are miles easier to adjust... I won't bother with a carbon roof, as I've no sunroof the weight saving is minimal, probably < 5Kg. Brakes turned up today, alcon kit 365 front, 343 rear. I'm probably not going to do anything engine wise but if I ever did, yours sounds the same route I'd take. A light touch ;-) yes, certainly sounds like two identical cars ! Quote:

Lee, is it the Yellow 'CSL Cup' brakes you've bought from Thorney?

Oh I just picked up 4 x DZ03G in 265/35/18 for £169 a corner.
... ... no, sadly not. They are indeed £275. FFS thats ridiculous. The evo takes a 285/30/18 which are £190 a corner. Right enough, even back in August 2009 I saw a price of £260 for the 265/30/18. Fcuk knows why you have to pay through the nose for less rubber, but there you go. I'm doing this project to really learn the art of RWD and it can be argued that sticky tyres aren't the way to do that. Putting pricey rubber aside, it boils down to a choice of: Federal SS-595 £81 Kumho KU31 £110 Falken FK-452 £115 Hankooks £134 hmmmmm |

Yes, but don't believe the yellow. I know a man at alcon who pulled the engineering sheets, its the exact same kit that alcon sell under their brand. Same kit as on the front of my evo. I nabbed it from Thorney because you can't argue with someone who has them on the shelf ready to ship (minus some hoses which took 2 weeks too long to come in)
So currently the car is on track (no pun intended) to look exactly like this one: http://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/products/images/DSC01060%20[Desktop%20Resolution].JPG although I have some ideas on the colour.... |
