Cesil at the dealers now what do you think of this price please ?
Hi everyone. Mines in for the dreaded subframe repair. The rear end is now stripped down ready for the body shop. I've asked for a price for these items to be fitted whilst the subframe is on the deck.
RTAB *2 Rear subframe mounts *4 Front diff input seal Diff shaft seals *2 This is all precauionary but perhaps a sensible time to do it all. Price over the phone of £624 inc vat. Says 50/50 labour / parts as still 3 hours of work. He said the bushes alone are £200. I think it's a bit steep but it's a authorised M dealer. Opinions please - cheers |

There are 2 diff driveshaft seal as well in my price. He said not to renew the diff oil but they would top any up if required in with that price. Knights BMW I'm guessing parts under £250 the rest labour ???? |

For anyone with out warranty there is a place near the Trafford centre (Manchester) that do a top job on repair/strengthen sub frame defects. They can also do other jobs whilst they are doing the work.
I have posted details before and can do again if anyone requires them. |

Other dealers have been doing this extra work at a greatly reduced hourly Rate,I think it is a bit steep.I didn't have as much as you done, but new RTABs and new input shaft seal cost me fitted and inc vat £150.

It seems steep to me but then I am getting a 5 k job for free :-/ do the shaft seals go ? All this work is only from me as a precaution.
I could do the bushes myself but then I would need to realign again. There costs are offset by it being aligned after warranty work. |

Not had a price yet, but it's definitely worth doing as peace of mind as it will all be in bits anyway. I'll ask them for a price on Saturday when I drop the beastie off so you can compare. Though i'm not having my RTAB's done this time as I put new ones in with a limiting kit last summer, but at least you can have some sort of comparison. |
