Default PZ Racing GPS lap timing system???

Has anyone used the PZ Racing GPS lap timing system?
Just plug into the cig' 12v socket and off you go?
Only £200 so seems good value if it works?

Look at the AiM Solo, look at the analysis software and compare the two, well worth the extra money in my opinion and off course CSLR discounts apply. Got them in stock.

It isn't clear if the PZ one actually logs anything other than lap times and sector times? AiM Solo is a full data loggers and in additon also does predictive timing so you can see in real time if the line you just took gained you time, records data allowing you to view and compare speeds at any point on the circuit, can also choose to pay more for a version that will allow you to log throttle position, rpm etc etc from the ECU too.

The PZ just does lap times nothing else.

What's the cost of the AiM Solo? Does it take alot of wiring in? Or just plug in?

Forgive me if you are already fully aware of Harrys Lap timer for the iPhone but if you are not its about £14.00.

The external mic was about a tenna also off ebay as was the adapter to turn the iPhone headphone port into a mic input. Pretty good value IMO and love the updates with corner names and count down to the Apex

This was me at Donington last weekend.

RRP on website, as I said can do CSLR discounts by PM.

Just plug in to lighter socket for the non RPM etc version, or don't even do that, has enough battery power for 4-6 hours depending on if you have the backlight on.

Analysis software is the same as used by AiM MXL dashes.

http://www.aim-sportline.com/pages/solo/index.htm for more info, download Race Studio 2 analysis software for a play from here: http://www.aim-sportline.com/pages/d...n_software.php

Built in GPS is 10Hz.

I wouldn't recommend using iPhone apps as the GPS isn't great and the times may well be misleading (but better than your wife doing it )

Drop outs on iPhone are commn place. I plotted Harry's against VBox and PBox and was a significant difference at Spa

Although I have tested a VBox at Silverstone and not against Harrys I wouldn't dissagree with you. You can see the speed suddenly jump in areas on my video almost as if the GPS signal has caught up all of a sudden.

Its 'reasonably' accurate and I use it to review my lines and where I am on and off the power more than anything else. The speed and time are just a guide.
