Pagid RS29 cracked
So this is one of my rear RS29 pads for the OEM calipers.
Have you seen something similar ? It's the first time I see this and have no clue what might have caused it. All other pads are fine. |

Well to be honest with you I didn't spot it when they were on the car but after some time (a friend wanted them and checked them thoroughly).
I have AP racing front + rear for more than a year now. |

I have Pagid RS29s on my AP kit only for track days and go back to Ferrodo DS2500 on the road. I too noticed a small crack on one of my pads today when swapping them back. The crack was there when I put them on on Thursday for the three days at the Nurburgring. I risked it for a biscuit and went with it and they seemed to last alright. As I said though my crack is not a severe as yours.

They look old to me, fatigue, weather, hold/cold changes. Driving in subzero temps can have an adverse effect like this. And this can happen regardless of mileage. |

Sort of, but whole pad seemed to delaminate from backing plate 3 yrs ago. Could feel it happen on't eccles at Anglesey and lucky to get some 'get me home' pads from on track day mechanic guy. Guess these things occasionally happen. But have since tried to have a front/rear spare as it ain't fum driving home on metal!

Have they been sat in the garage for a year since you got your APs? Might be caused by damp \ cold etc as Shane said.

I used them for 10 months, about 10k km on them.
The crack was there when I got them out of the car, I just didn't pay attention. I have to say that the weather conditions here are a bit extreme and especially back then I would oftenly drive the car with -10 degrees (up to -25 I have seen in Stuttgart). |
