Upgrades...keep old bits or flog on ?
Righto, yesterday I went to simpson and had a full supersprint system fitted along with intrax 1k2 and the legendary RTAB limiters.
(incidentally my RTAB were very old and very worn and fook me, that is the smallest upgrade I've ever done to a car which has made it felt so much better) Anyhow, I have the old BMW cats and AC Schnitzer backbox from the exhaust plus all the original CSL suspension (no broken springs!). My logic was that the intrax would fetch decent money at a later date, so to keep the original suspension, but see if I could flog the cats/backbox on ebay; the center section pipework was knadgered so I'd have to source new oem exhaust or (more likely) sell the car with the supersprint still on. In a few weeks the seats are coming out (front and rear) for a set of buckets, harnesses and rear cage. I'm thinking I would be best off keeping the original seats to put back at a later date; I suspect a 2nd hand CSL with buckets and a cage would devalue it rather than add value. Agree/disagree? |

Definately keep and put back to standard. You'll likely attract a wider pool of punters with a standard car and make more money selling seperately - unless Dunc is looking for a sister car for the broom

Agree. Keep your old bits. We are always getting calls for second hand OEM as people put cars back to standard.

OK I think I'll stick to that plan then. Flog the cats and backbox because they make no real difference in the scheme of things, keep the suspension and seats for retrofit.
cheers :-) |

You guys that are running with rear cages, exactly how much damage does it do? i.e carpet etc.
Going back to my previous road cars with cages id just cut the carpet round it but just dont fancy doing that to the CSL. |
