18 inch track wheels
Having been out in a couple of different CSLs at Spa recently, 18inch wheels with some more front end grip seems the way forward for me.
I'd like to avoid buying a set of wheels and tyres then finding out they don't fit! So was hoping I could draw on some experience from the forum. The Volks RE30s look great, are light and stiff, the RE30 clubsports even lighter. Main priority is getting a 18 x 9.5 rim on the front, rears can go the same or even wider to a 18 x 10.5. My options with this wheel are: Front - RE30 Clubsport 18 x 9.5 ET27 - std ET is 22 but can be machined down to +27. 265/35/19s. Rear - RE30 Clubsport 18 x 10.5 ET18 - 285/30/19 tyre or Rear - RE30 Clubsport 18 x 9.5 ET22 - 265/35/19s with 7mm spacer. The other option is the std RE30s: Front - RE30 18 x 9.5 ET35 - not sure if the alcon/ap bbk will fit behind this. Rears - RE30 18 x 10.5 ET25 - 10mm spacer. or Rear - RE30 18 x 9.5 ET35 - 20mm spacer (bit too big spacer for me really). An ET that works seems to be around the 34 front and 15 rear using 18 x 9.5 all round, -2 or -3 front camber with a car on lowered suspension. What 18 inch sizes and ETs do others run and what are you thoughts on the above? Are these going to fit or is it going to be an expensive exercise! |

Copy shimmy IMO.
Running same front and rear allows for rotation and makes your life easier, you could even carry a spare.

9.5 is a better size just rarer / only on the more expensive wheels.
I went 10 all round in a 250 tyre.

Agree. 9.5inch is better for accommodating a 265. I run a 285 on a 10J also.
