Default car battery conditioner

anyone advise on what trickle charger to go for as mine will be laid up over winter?

i have seen the ctek ones for sale but not sure on ampage and voltage.

is the 3.6A one going to have enough oomph? Looks like the bmw, Porsche etc branded ones are from ctek too

thanks, dc

I had the old version of the mxs 3.6 but after 5 years it started to play up so I have bought the mxs 5.0

'MXS 5' I bought one 3 weeks ago £53 inc the post, although this appears to have just been updated to the 'XS 5' see: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160927753460

If you click the link you'll see the add for the 'XS 5', If you scroll down the Page the write up is for the 'MXS 5', £10 more expensive for what appears to be a label change!

A Ctek or Optimate will both do the job fine.

My Optimate is about 9 years old and still going strong. 3.6 amps will be fine as you are only topping up the battery.

I've used my Optimate to charge batteries from totally flat, it take a while but will do it.

Get a unit that desulphates the battery too.

Mines hooked up to a ctek multi xs 3600 now. Well worth the investment. About £40
Last week after a few weeks idol it just about started. So plugged it in. The cold kills batterys !
