CSL Wheel Gurus & Cup Gurus
Hi, got some CSL wheels, just wanting to check and see if their genuine as advertised. Compared with plumber vic's CSL wheels and they match up except for a couple of numbers that are different, can anyone explain this?
2 of the wheels have a lip on the inside of the wheels and 2 don't. Rough picture: And also got some Cups but the treads are different? Anyone know why, did the tyre get facelifted or something? |

I'll pick up the late shift
Top tyre is a Cup+, bottom is full fat CSL Cup. Diff tyre, diff compound. |

Thanks
Is it a problem using Cup+ and Cup tyres together if they're different compound? |

BMW CSL Wheel center image:
Note: beneath the 'M' badge (which is incidentally is upside down) 'BMW' is embossed, not a series of numbers. However, we've had this conversation before, BBS wheel sold by BMW, as opposed to what could be a 'BBS Wheel' sold by BBS is a possibility. From memory 'NZ_M3' is amongst our wheel experts.

Didn't notice it was upside down
Just waiting to check if they're real before confirming sale with the seller |

The cup + heat up quicker and do not have as much grip. Also they do not have the correct profile for the rears.

Can you get better shots of the wheel please. There are aspects of these wheels that make them look genuine but also some strange anomalies (like the BMW insignia below the M badge which isn't very legible and I have no clue as to what it says). The two tone paint (compared to the outside and inner spoke) which make me think these are real (the correct colour also) - the random "X" "P" "1' ect marking on the inner face (although depending on the year the wheels are made some are cast into the face, others are stamped). I am leaning towards these are genuine at the moment, but need better higher resolution photos to determine for sure. |
