Don't know, I never time them. Would have been good for that though, there was so few cars and by 3pm we were pretty much the only ones there. A couple of cars ended up on their roofs on the gravel in the morning.
All the crowds were at Bedford by the sounds of it (and a CSL into a tyre wall apparently ). The Cups were immense, needed 3-4 laps to get them up to temp, but after that they were awesome and just kept on gripping. Quickest were a White Radical, a Leon Race car and that Exige Cup, very nice that Exige, looked like a McLaren in your mirrors. |

Had a few laps at Donny using full circuit as a passenger in an Exige V6 cup a few months back. What impressed me was the braking.
By the way lots of flashing yellow light before the main straight. That must have cost you time. |

Yeah, didn't really trust myself to turn off all the aids, as first time on new Cups and it was about 5 degrees. All the 'offs' were people over-cooking it on cold tyres with TC off I am sure. And offs at Donington tend to be quite big as it's a fast track.
A decent driver could take chunks of time, e.g. the left hand very high speed bend down the hill...choices....dab the brakes....hold the throttle....or accelerate though.... Love the track though, very rewarding. And it still amazes me how track-quick the CSL is for an out of the box 3 series coupe, it's just an epic car. |

Yes love Donny. I had an instructor for the day when I went the last time. Very interesting and great fun having someone who knows what they are doing sitting next to you.

There was only one CSL at Donington, mine.
There was an fake one (M3 with replica bootlid and front bumper etc) it was drifting around all over the place and then went off or I think lost a headlight or something daft like that. |
