Isn't it just... no it can't be right, race entries, tyres (plus wets if it rains), race support, car hire. yadda yadda. anyway... I'm not disputing that it's mega fun but it's certainly not that cheap (sadly)

So were there any CSLs actually there?
If so... interesting how the Track King was dusted away by an E30 and an M3-engines CSL... (in fairness they're both brilliant drivers from what I've seen) |

Well I had a great day. From the reaction of other spectators in the stand it was well received. And judging from the gasps, ooo's and arrgghhh's they made with the tussle for the lead and a couple mid field they enjoyed it.
First time I've ever been to Rockingham and came away with mixed views. It's the first time I've seen a track and didn't think I'd like to drive parts or the whole of it! On the plus side from the spectator stand you could see the whole race although can't get close to the track. Must say all the people working there were notably very friendly and helpfull more so than all the other places 'Curly's Crazy's' (the official supporters club, dontdobends) have been. I think it was a mountain for all participants concerned with everyone having their own set of problems, mostly teething problems in a new series in my opinion. Thorney obvioiusly had the most pressure being the main driver/organiser of CSL Cup. Creating this must have been a huge effort to get to first grid and congratulations. I guess the pressure/politics from others may even increase now it's confounded critics and become a reality. It was personally a difficult to see dontdobends struggle with several problems. But I think he fired a warning shot in the first half of the first race where although the top three, which were in modified class, slowly pulled away he was holding fourth! Pretty awesome considering. Anyway Curly's Crazy's have been here before though when his first round of Sportmax at Croft was a tricky affair but like a true sportsman dusted himself down and came back with a pot and podium position the next time at Donny round! :yeah: A couple of photo's... I think Speed Religion (Ant Howarth of Ant&Pete Gumball fame) backed the right one and ruffled a few feathers maybe. It was great to see this car even though it obviously ran away in second race. A virgin member of Curly's Crazy's, hopefully will get a few more caps this year. Motivating pit crew is not easy! :haha: |
