Before I bought my car I had a Comprehensive RAC PPI completed. They check the paint thickness as part of the vehicle check and the guy inspecting it said the paint thickness was 1/2 that of a regular E46M3 all over (except the front bumper, which had been resprayed).

Also done rac survey on my car when I purchased paint definitely thinner than normal M3 around 100 microns from memory.

I probably could have brought another csl for the money but it's been a ongoing project and a one off! and where some people spend a fortune and don't get anywhere near what they spent back I know all the parts will hold there money so most have been an investment that won't lose money.

I have nearly an identical bike that I recently picked up, was very tatty so has been rebuilt. Would love to find out the exact model but short of taking the paint off to look at the serials I'm not sure how. Here she is with my other project, built for the scottish sports and saloons. Running a 400bhp 1.8t, in the last stages of the build, hope to be testing it for the first time in three years within a couple of months.
