Try controlling 400-500bhp and more with 600/650 x 19 cross ply tyres, evil power delivery and Pre-War suspension technology. Then add in very average track surfaces, no run off or safety considerations, cotton driving suits, leather flying caps and goggles at speeds in excess of 175mph. If you drove one today you'd shit yourself at 80mph........trust me.

I agree regarding the electronic aids etc but back in the day it wasn't as competitive to become a driver in the first place so those guys were the best of the bunch back then but most didnt work their way through karting, F'Ford, F3 etc? These days far more focused / talented drivers |
