So a weekend that probably will not go down in history but will probably go won in infamy for ONeills knowledge of porn movies staring well known faces especially Rob Lowe.
AlexGTT, me and oNeill turned up Saturdsy to find Matt at Tracktoys all set up with kettle, coffee and biscuits. Garages secured nd MX5 prepped and ready.(pics to follow from Alex) We signed on and took the briefing face on and managed to crawl out intact. ONeill and I took turns in the inter snd advanced groups on what an only be described as a wet track and very slippy. It was cold as well and drying wasnt really gonna happen although it didn't rain (much). Our times went from 1m49 down to 1m 39 over the whole day literally session to session irrespective of who was driving so I think learning the car and the very slow drying was the reason. CSLut turned up mid morning after a sleep in. So Alex and CSLut were ragging around in the CSLs along with a host of Saxo, Scoobies, Evos, Pugs and an M3 or two. Tea towel (Hasib from OPl.co.uk) was also with us in his E36M3 but in the inter group so we hardly saw him! I think the MX5 was a good call as the track was tricky all day but with the Mx5 you can play with the car and it's perfect balance and little power and have a real fun day. My hips and hands hurt as the tester ring whilst a great feel is not light and you have to wrestle it around a bit. Track time finished around 3.30 due to light so we were in the Radisson for 4pm and bar for 5.30pm so ONeil was pissed by 8pm and talking non stop to midnight. We sat in the bar watching the Xmas parties arrive but CSlut wanted a trad pub dinner so we set of to Castle Donington to some strange inbred public house with a full bunch of weirdos. Good food though nd good banter. Sunday we were all in CSLs and weather was a tad warmer, track a tad drier snd it did dry a bit more ever hour. CSlut was on it and I think the OeM suspension on Coppice was the one to have. We had some good battles trying to stay on each others tails then as soon as we passed each oer, we pushed too hard and the guy behind was once again on the leaders tail. Alex got better all day and I think his last session was his best all day. I managed a 1m 32 by the end of the day but it was very hard and tbh ever so slightly dangerous so I wouldn't be surprised if both Alex and CSLut and ONeill went faster. It was fun in a bum clenching sort of way. One E46M3 was there on toyos but managed to bin it into the barrier near the chicane, but luckily damage was side panel only and he managed to drive out for the last session. The we're countless offs all day, a few hit barriers and it was true Cowboy country especially in the inter group. I had two spins (one very lucky one) and a whole host of "moments". One video to come! Cheers boys for a good weekend.

Boddingtons wipes your memory, I can't remember anything of last night
Race spec MX5's are quite physical, kart like. I think I'll be having a few more TDs in one |

Nice write up Shim. I'll get pics sorted later. Great to see you and Barry and meet CSLut and Teatowel. Really enjoyed the weekend even if we do see Barry in a different light after his Rob Lowe revelation! Nice to finish a TD at 3.30pm and hit the bar at a reasonable time.
Looking through the VBox stuff your best was better than mine Shim. Did a few 1min 33's, best was a 33.2. Only 3 clear laps in the last, driest session. Loads of scary moments as Shim said but managed to keep it on the black stuff both days. Even with the conditions I really enjoyed it. Not done a sessioned day for many years. A little frustrating as it took most of the session building just enough heat to push a little for the flag to come out. Could have done with 30 min sessions but never mind. Pics coming soon.
