Many thanks to Julian, it was fixed and ready collect by 12 today.
Bad luck mate ... Well done Simpsons ... and Boooooo in the general direction of the RAC... it's very unlike them. I've used them twice before and they always went out of their way to help... all in good time too
Glad it's all fixed now and the CSL's back on the road

That's unlucky mate.

Me and a mate walked past your car and saw the oily rag underneath. We said then that it looked a bit worrying. Glad it was nothing too serious.

Thanks Paul. It looked rather dramatic but luckily I was able to shut it down without any damage. When Simpson's fixed it this morning they said less than 1 litre of oil lost. Longest part of the job was cleaning the engine bay and underside of the car! It was absolutely plastered with oil. They're good lads though and all super clean again now.

Amazingly the failed pipe was one supplied last year with a new uprated oil cooler! I'll post a pick and details later this week in the technical section.

Glad its been sorted by Simpson already mate - good lads!

I too have had bad experience of the RAC in the past - very similar to your story but culminating in a smashed LHS splitter followed by 8 months of wrangling to get them to pay for the new one!
