I've gotta say SMG. I know I'm going to be shot down and I know that it is part of the character of the car.
However, as an occasional browser of this forum, I am struck by the number of SMG problems everyone has and how far reaching they are through the rest of the drive train. It is a wonderful piece of kit when driving fast on the open road, but horrible when cold or in traffic and the whole thing does not operate with any mechanical sympathy at all. Put another way, if someone asked you if they could drive your (ordinary manual) car and then proceeded to jolt and jerk about like the SMG system does, you'd say "get out of the car - now!" and yet we all accept it as the way these cars are. For me, it would be SMG and only SMG. No need for a cage where I come from and go to and my brakes have always been fine (no track work). Everything else I'll take just as it is please. After all, what DO we get? 911 worrying performance A noise you don't get this side of a Ferrari Great handling and great (road) brakes Cool understated looks All of that AND genuine 4 seats and an enormous boot!! IMHO the CSL is as close to perfection as it gets. Think Megan Fox, only with good conversation, Great cooking and mothering skills too........... Now waiting for the shouts of derision
