Well - what a day ! Wet morning, dry afternoon. Explored the limit and beyond (for those that have done it, I made it to the grass on the left hander at speed) I think Mr Walsh had a moment when I spiralled out of control and mashed the loud pedal rather than the brake by accident
really felt I learned a lot today, even some simple steering / brake inputs made a massive difference, but wouldn't have known this without this experience. Fair to say Billy and I learned a lot in the first hour ! Also, my first time with all traction control turned off and S6. Stopped off at Elite on the way home for a brand new pair of SS boots for the rear. Love it and will be back for more. |

I'm pretty sure I have a lot to learn. Watford Gap is a bit like the event horizon of a black hole...

Awesome day, some great drifts on the high speed bend and plenty of spins.
Like Yanto said I got my moneys worth in the first ten minutes about the car control and the correct way to handle the steering wheel so you know where the end of the rack is. After that I was aloud to play on the figure of 8, utilising throttle and steering wheel techniques, then pub lunch - no stella though! Then onto circular drifts to get to one end of the airfield to the other, then the timed race track. Even the guy in the exige managed to get 7 seconds off his first timed attempt. This is a must and is money well spent, would I do it again, hell yeah even as a little taster is we got enough of us together to get a whole day but at a discount rate each. Duncan the 1 finger on the steering wheel is insane & works, thats why you need light grip on the steering wheel as the car will correct you. I have a great video on Andy drifting Ian's round the circuit and got about 6 high speed bends on camera. Andy got round the circuit in mine in 53 seconds- it was epic being in the passenger seat. |
