Thanks guys I'm really looking forward to getting it looking its best again (andyk old car) so it's having the boot floor and a few other bits done at the moment
Can't say enough good things about Bartletts
From there initial inspection to taking on the work they've been a wealth of knowlage and help

then I'm sending it to the body shop for some work at the same time sending carbon splitters and rear diffuser to mark for a refurb

Rear view mirror and steering wheel also need sorting

Wheels are off to Lepsons and will be fitted with a new set of cups

Who knows I might even get a chance to drive it

The CSL has it's niche.

Even if GT3 prices slump a little there will remain a band of buyers that can stretch to a £40K toy but not an £80K toy. It's these buyers who will push values up.

All of the above being said the CSL is an old car now and there are plenty of people who will be put off with this. Owning and running a 13 year old car comes with it's own set of challenges and plenty of people won't entertain doing any sort of DIY. This aspect will shrink the pool of potential buyers.

I'm starting to ramble now.

All I know is that the couple who were camping next to us at Le Mans remarked on how many people had doubled back to have a squint around the CSL over the weekend. 13 years on they obviously still draw attention.

Your last paragraph says it all. The E46 CSL is soon to join the top step with the E9 & E30. "Soon" being the next decade.

Each sale has increased not only the mileage but also the asking price, 5K in 6 months isn't to be sniffed at
well 24-48hrs time il picking this one up (finally as the current owner only just beat me too it from GP Cars!) He's selling as not making use of it and has a Porsche cup car coming.

If you do the maths on the mileage eg. Merseyside to Hertfordshire is approx 200mls, so it did 300mls whilst in GP Cars care.
Similarly the chap now selling in North Somerset probably picked it up and drove it home, approx 170mls so again very little use.

Good luck with the purchase kman.
