I cant say for a CSL but when I had my M3 I had SS race cats, SS unsilenced X pipe and a SS lightweight race back box, when I got sick of the noise I changed the back box back to standard and normality returned. I ended up selling all 3 as I didn't see any difference with the standard back box on, wish I had kept them now so I could have seen what it was like on the CSL. I did love the sound of the full system in the summer months (having a bit of fun) but it was too much in the winter day in day out.
