I've never forgotten the Old Mans Black 323i Bavaria, and look what it did to me.

Eventhough I was probably 5 yrs old at the time, I'll never forget the day my dad had his new E28 520i delivered. The looks and interior blew me away, the characteristic glow of the dash lights were amazing. BMW love affair began. Then later we did a factory collection of a W124 Merc. Wow, another love. I plan to buy a W124 500E in the not too distant future, a remaining obsession. |

I'm not going to follow up on the Romans CLK63, there is another one I'm interested in but the owner has taken a contract abroad for a while. He is looking to sell, but only when he gets back. No point in me selling CSL and then waiting a few months without a toy just for him to return. Would drive me mad. And I will not be putting CSL up for sale publicly, will just sell to an extended member of the Lagos family or on here through PM. |

Couple of Pix below of my W124 500E I bought from it's original & only German owner back in 2007 which I owned for 2 years. I SOLD it to a German car dealer ( for his own collection, not retail stock ) who came all the way from Hamburg after seeing 5 ropey ones back home. He couldn't believe his luck when he came to view mine here in Cambridge and told me how hard it has become to find a clean, 1 owner 500E on the continent. Bought mine on the spot for the asking price and drove it back to Ze Fazerland on his German Trade plates. I miss that old bus.

To be honest, I have not been that fazed by the difficulty of finding a nice one, I keep a regular eye on mobile.de and autoscout24, loads for sale. Also, a work colleague based in Germany is a 500E fan too and is happy to help out with the process, that's key for me. I don't expect to find one in the UK necessarily, though they are cheaper here than on the continent. I'd have bought the Avantgarde car if it was your colour combo. http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...-uk-car/443215 I'd love to buy the E500 Limited, but some of those interior colours are wacky! SS Motors in Weybridge are pretty close to me, they'll be the ones looking after the car for me in all likelihood so I'm confident as long as I buy a straight car that any mechanical issues will be addressed by experts. |
