seem to be around 175kgs adrift from
where it would be nice to be, ie 1350/1300 kgs ?

Obvious offeneders removed and or replaced
with lighter eqv, wheels, Brakes, suspension
components, Exhaust, seats, linings, noise installation etc
getting below 1475kgs is not easy.

Even with say Carbon panels, ex the doors / Glass
both not practical on a Road based Track car,
then 1450kg is about it from what I can see,
and still at least 125/150 kg from where you want to be
with the F/R weight ratio creeping towards front
bias at around 55/56% V 45/44%.

The Gorilla.
The big old lump up front is the killer I suppose, as most of the weight saving is aft of the engine, after fitting different wheels, which again, dont contribute to any real weight shift F/R just an overall gross weight saving. Only one thing for it, bulkhead out and move it back mate ! Whats the bonnet made of on the E92? savings there possibly.... but not on your pocket thats for sure !

Hi,

DuncanR- that's the interesting bit.

BMW claim that the new S65 V8 is
lighter than the S54 straight 6.

Thus being a V8, the actual dead weight overhanging
the front axle/ O/A Wheel base is less in
the E92 Shell than the 6 Pot in the E46.
[Part reason why the E46 GTR handles so well]

The E92 M3 Manual Gearbox is approx 10 KG
heavier, and the DCT box another 5KG on top.

But even allowing for some indifference in
the engine gross weights etc, its hard to figure
where this extra weight would / could be
stripped out from.

Regards,

The Gorilla.
