I think that an 'optionless' car will for the most part always be valued at less than the equivalent, same mileage, optioned car - by most buyers. That's the main consequence of owning a no-options CSL when it comes to selling - the potential buyer customer base is considerably smaller than that of someone selling a fully optioned CSL. Most buyers expect creature comforts these days - even on a purists car like the CSL.

I was like most buyers when i was looking for my CSL and used it daily at first enjoying the extras that the car has. Now i only use it for track days and Ring trips and i can honestly say that i wouldn't miss any option except perhaps aircon. I would be very interested in that car if i was a new buyer now...

You have to admit Rob, that my optionless CSL is faster too

Im off to bed, night night boys

As above, optionless have been perceived to be worth less but in the future will be perceived less so

I believe there is a Market for them at the same price as those with extras but as Shane said, less buyers.

Any decent condition CSL at 16k miles ought to be £35k plus as asking price.

I said that Shim

I think a nice 16k miles CSL a year or two ago (with options) would fetch £35k plus - not now. Of course there's always someone out there who will be more than happy to pay over the odds for anything if they want it enough - the seller just has to be patient for them to appear.

I'm just as keen as anyone to keep CSL prices strong but at the end of the day they are simply cars and most buyers wont be prepared to pay much over the odds for a CSL when comparing with similar albeit higher mileage CSLs. The E46 CSL has no racing pedigree to fall back on unlike earlier M cars such as the E30 M3 Evo Sport and the original E9 CSL.

All IMHO of course...

Thanks for the reassurance.

Hi mate, did your 16.5k mile CSL have its running in service done at the right time,as this could change the whole thread on your car.
