I can honestly say I won't be driving the ring again. There is just too much to lose if it goes wrong.
I drove it in the wet just to say I've driven it and didnt enjoy it at all. Had some passenger rides with short stuff... I mean Rob and can confirm he is very smooth and knows the track well. I shit myself in there as I didn't have a clue where the track is going. Give me Spa or any short circuit any day. The only laps ill be doing is from the bar to the loo after lots of beer...

1 more for the bar
I've enjoyed some good laps at the ring but it will be busy and busy can = disaster. I've seen too many big ones for me to get excited about laps now. I think they are also taking the piss with lap prices compared to prices a few years back. |

I did a few TF days when I first started going to the Ring and cannot remember doing more than 2 consecutive laps without having a near miss (one guy in a GT3 locked up behind me and almost took my rear bumper off) or turning a corner and being confronted by the stationary remains of a car and an upset-looking owner. Insurance is also nigh-on impossible on TF days, so you're on your own if it goes tits up. Doing a TF day in a CSL convoy would be great, though (jealous that I can't come to Munich). |
